Special thanks to our classmate, computer whiz & creative designer Santiango Gutiérrez. Without his help this project wouldn´t have been possible.

Rosario-Victoria Bridge by Camila Espejo

In Rosario there are lots of beautiful places you can visit, such as the Rosario- Victoria Bridge, which joins the Argentine cities of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, and Victoria, province of Entre Rios. It’s composed by several bridges, channels and earth-filled sections. This bridge crosses the main course of the Paraná River and touches down on several islands of the Paraná Delta on this way.

The project began in 1998 but it was repeatedly interrupted due to a lack of funding from the National and the Provincial Governments. The public transit access to the bridge was opened on May 20th, 2003. The project was executed by a private company - Puentes del Litoral - which was granted subsidies from the Nacional Government and the Provincial Governments of Santa Fe and Entre Rios.

The opening of this bridge was very important because until then, the only road link between the two provinces was the Hernandarias Underwater Tunnel, which joins the cities of Santa Fe and Paraná.

Last year there was a 10 km marathon on the bridge and it was a very nice experience for the runners because they had a wonderful view while they were running and it was different from all the other marathons.

The real name of the bridge is Nuestra Señora del Rosario. It’s a beautiful place, because from there you can see the river and the islands; it also makes it easier to go from Rosario to Victoria, which is a beautiful city, full of things to do, such as going to the Thermal Spa or the Casino.
